I hope you enjoyed your holiday with loved ones and maybe spent some quality time in your vegetable garden. Drew and I had a beautiful Christmas day, despite the rain. We went to our dear friends, Candice & Chuck’s house, where their adorable 4 year old, Ava, graciously adorned each of our sweaters with her new stickers. (Remember when stickers were the greatest gift, providing hours of entertainment?)
Along with our closest friends we enjoyed an Italian feast. (Just like mom used to make!) Everything was delicious. Candice shares our passion for fresh, organic, healthy foods. She also inspired us by starting an organic garden this summer. Long before we took the plunge and started our winter garden, Candice would tell me how addicting it was to grow vegetables. I’ll be honest, I thought she was exaggerating…She wasn’t! Since our last “progress post” our garden has grown to include another “bowl” of gorgeously green lettuce, rosemary, thyme, another mint plant and Swiss Chard (courtesy of Candice).I had no idea growing vegetables would be so much fun! I love checking on each plant every morning, marveling over how much they’ve grown, planning the meals we’ll prepare… It provides hours of entertainment – it’s the grown up equivalent of a new book of stickers.

Our broccoli (center) is growing like crazy, but no fruit! Does anyone know what's going on?
